The year 2022 is a focal point for Maryville University, this region, our nation and the world. Ahead lies a different world than the one we had in 2019, but one full of promise and opportunity.
This fall, Maryville began a full collegiate experience once again with a strong COVID-19 plan in place, a high vaccination rate among our community members and masks at the ready.
When we began this pandemic journey in March 2020, none of us knew what was ahead of us. Today, Maryville is strong and thriving because of the commitment, passion and grit of the entire community.
Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, your Maryville community, students, faculty, staff and alumni have adapted, persevered, managed and thrived. Their passion and commitment in trying times is a wonder to behold.
I dedicate this issue of Maryville Magazine to health care workers who are working night and day under extremely difficult conditions to diagnose, treat and heal thousands across this region and nation.
Through Maryville’s Active Learning Ecosystem, students actively participate in the learning process by doing, making and interacting with each other and the environment around them, anytime and anywhere.
Maryville is using all of its talent, skill and innovation to harness the digital tools of today to prepare our students for rich and rewarding life experiences.
The Maryville community is celebrating our 150th anniversary in many ways, from attending events to posting our favorite Maryville memories on social media. The celebration continues throughout 2022 and will conclude at Homecoming.
Maryville was overjoyed to celebrate an in-person Commencement for the first time in two years since the pandemic began. Faculty, family and friends were also welcomed back to cheer on graduates.
Two years into the pandemic, mental health challenges continue to plague college students. Maryville is instructing faculty and staff on how to address those challenges.
