Before the Goose Cup resurrected the friendly facu Before the Goose Cup resurrected the friendly faculty/staff versus student competition, there was Maryville Mania, an annual spirit night in the 1990s. The event took place before a regular season men’s and women’s basketball games and included a faculty/staff versus student basketball scrimmage. It also included a “shoot for the loot” competition with prizes for free throw and 3-point shots. Additionally, the grand prize of the spirit mug and poster decorating contest was free textbooks for the semester, a very popular prize in the days before the ONE FEE.

Repost of @maryvillecru Summer update #4, our St. Louis contingent! These friends have been faithfully meeting together all summer in St. Louis, growing in the Lord and seeking to be missional together! Here’s how one of the leaders of this group, @emma.nickelson described their time, “This summer, Shelby and I led a bible study in our home! It was so encouraging to see everyone’s heart for the Lord as they came each week willing to pursue Him and others. As we know, it can be easy to “check out” during the summer and avoid being intentional in your walk with the Lord and with others, but this summer was a great reminder that the Lord has purpose no matter where we are or what season we’re in. He calls us to mission not just overseas, but in our own homes, workplaces, social spaces, and communities. We were also so encouraged by the vulnerability of the people in our group, and their willingness to share and work through difficult things. All in all, this summer was a great example of the Lord’s work and faithfulness!!

Praising God for the faithful, mission-minded people He has surrounded us with!!!” Mission is wherever you are whenever God calls you!
